All the programs at Chennai Institute of Technology (CIT Chennai) are affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
CIT Chennai is an autonomous institute affiliated to Anna University. The curriculum is revised and upgraded regularly. All the programs are conducted on a semester basis. The teaching methodology focuses on classroom lectures, guest lectures, self-learning, assignments, projects, practical sessions, periodical evaluation and feedback.
The B.E./B.Tech program consists of 8 semesters (4 years) in duration. Evaluations, both internal and external, are carried out according to the norms of Anna University.
The B.E./B.Tech Programs are the flagship programs at CIT Chennai. Admission to these Programs is strictly by merit. There are currently Fourteen B.E./B.Tech programs offered at CIT Chennai.

Foreign Nationals (FN)
Students from foreign countries with foreign passports are eligible to apply under this category. Students must have completed their Class XII or equivalent (completed 12 years of school education) from a recognised Board/University with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as their main subjects. In case of boards other than CBSE, the students have to submit an equivalence certificate certifying the equivalence to the CBSE board

Students from Overseas Citizen of India with foreign passports are eligible to apply under this category. In case of boards other than CBSE, the students have to submit an equivalence certificate certifying the equivalence to the CBSE board.

Under this category, admission is offered to children of Non Resident Indians and Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries. Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination i.e (10+2) of Indian System or its equivalent (completed 12 years of school education)
